An image of *Spirogyra* provided by Dr. Hisato Ikegaya, an academic researcher in our laboratory, was featured in a collaborative project between ABC Television and the Asahi Shimbun titled "Vermeer, the 'Magician of Light,' and Another Genius: Exploring the Connection to Leeuwenhoek, the Scientist Who First Discovered Microorganisms—An Analysis by Molecular Biologist Shin-ichi Fukuoka."
