国際ハウジングワークショップは夏季長期休暇に台湾の淡江大学と共同研究で行われている合同設計ワークショップである。毎年日本、台湾、中国の学生が約70名参加する。毎年住まいに関するテーマが与えられ、グループで設計を行う。敷地サーベイ後、デザインワーク、指導講師によるエスキースが行われ、3回の講評会で提案を発表する。
In every summer, we hold the architectural design workshop; almost 70 students participate from Japan Women’s University, Tankan University in Taiwan and other universities in Asia.
Basically we hold the workshop alternately in Tokyo and Taipei, but in 2019 we held in Malaysia for the first time. The main theme of this workshop is housing. Each year, we take up the temporary issues of housing of the city in which we hold the workshop. These may seem to be local problems but sometimes there are common issues.
The students are divided into groups of several people, and they work together with one or two professors for each group. They form their architectural idea through field surveys.
At the final review, each group does a presentation of their work and some architects join as critics. It is a very exciting experience for participants, with a constructive criticism, students get to know the actual possibilities and shortcomings of their ideas.
